What happens if I lose my hardware wallet?
If you lose your CryptKeeper device, your funds remain safe as long as you have your recovery seed phrase. The recovery seed is a backup of all the private keys on your device.
To recover your assets:
- Purchase a new CryptKeeper device (or any compatible hardware wallet)
- During setup, select "Restore from recovery phrase"
- Enter your recovery seed phrase
- Create a new PIN
After completing these steps, your new device will have access to all the same accounts and assets as your lost device. This is why it's critically important to keep your recovery seed phrase in a secure location, protected from theft, fire, and water damage.
